New York based Contemporary Realist painter Caleb Nelson Carter will be hosting a special open studio live model portrait drawing session and demo Nov 22nd.
This session offers two hours of focused drawing time. Participants are welcome to use any dry drawing media of their choice. Easels and drawing boards are provided, but participants should bring their own paper and preferred drawing materials. Space is limited to 10 participants, and advance registration is required. Registrants will receive first priority for choosing easel positions. Space is limited. The cost is $30 per 2-hour session. To guarantee your spot, please arrive early.
The session is informal and uninstructed, but Caleb will be demonstrating a method of Classical Academic drawing and will be available throughout to answer questions about his technique or provide guidance on participants’ work.

Kaylin Warden joined the Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center staff in 2024 as External Affairs Coordinator. In this post, she organizes special off-site events and manages the organization’s external communications. She also works with the development department by updating the MACC’s customer relations database, and she assists the executive director in setting up exhibitions. Above all else, Kaylin is passionate about the arts. It comes as no surprise, then, that she is now pursuing a master’s degree in art history. When she’s not at the MACC, you can find her reading her favorite books (especially ones dealing with maritime mysteries), cooking, gardening, playing with her cat and two dogs, and cheering for the Nashville Predators.
