Forged Garden: Sculpting Steel for the Outdoors - with Val Adams - Saturday, May 30th/10:30 - 2:30 & Sunday, May 31st/1:00 - 4:00
Step into the studio where steel bends to imagination and sparks sketch in midair. In this two-day art welding course, students learn foundational welding techniques while designing and fabricating magical garden ornaments and striking outdoor sculptures. From whimsical plant guardians and kinetic wind pieces to abstract forms that catch sunlight and cast dancing shadows, participants transform raw metal into durable works of art built to live outside.
Along the way, students explore composition, balance, texture, and patina, discovering how to give hard steel a sense of movement and personality. By the end of the course, each artist leaves with practical welding skills and a one-of-a-kind sculpture ready to enchant a garden, patio, or landscape with a touch of forged wonder.
