Canvas + Stone Opening Reception
Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center will showcase the works of two prominent contemporary artists this summer. The exhibition, titled Canvas + Stone, will feature more than 65 works by the painter Kathryn Dettwiller and sculptor Somers Randolph. The exhibit runs June 21 to July 27, 2025 at the MACC.
Dettwiller’s paintings are well-known to Tennessee art enthusiasts. Her works have been on display at the Parthenon Museum, Frist Art Museum, Tennessee State Museum and Tinney Contemporary, among other places. Somers Randolph has been actively pursuing form for most of his life. Based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Randolph creates his one-of-a-kind sculptures in stone from every continent.
The opening reception for Canvas + Stone will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, 2025. The artists will be on hand to greet visitors and discuss their creations. For more information, call (615) 822-0789.
