Monthaven Art and Cultural Center
Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center’s annual Veterans Art Exhibition features a Boots & BBQ Fundraiser to support the MACC’s “Between the Lines” Healing Arts Programs for military veterans. The chairs for this year’s fundraiser are retired U.S. Army Sgt. 1st Class Joe James and his wife Jarin James. The event’s keynote speaker will be J.T. Cooper, who was one of the American soldiers who fought in the 1993 Battle of Mogadishu in Africa. Cooper’s experience was portrayed in the movie Black Hawk Down. Warrior Rounds, a collaboration between military veterans and Nashville songwriters, will perform.
The Sixth Annual Exhibition is titled “Brave Beauty” and features the touring show Quilts of Valor along with the paintings of Tennessee artist (and Vietnam War veteran) Gerald Morgan. The evening will include special music, and our speakers will present information about the MACC’s Healing Arts Program.
