About Our Gala
Moonlight and Magnolia's is the MACC’s premier annual fundraiser. Founded in 2018, this elegant black-tie event brings together many of Sumner County’s most prominent arts patrons for an evening of art, music, fine dining and dancing. Event chairs for the 2024 fundraiser were Cyrus and Daniela Vatandoost, and Keith and Kim Samaroo.

Promoting Our Artists
Each year, Moonlight and Magnolias highlights a different visual artist, whose works are showcased in our galleries in the spring. The Gala artists also conduct master classes for our students and create an original work for the MACC’s permanent collection. This year’s artist was Kevin “Kre8” Vigil, whose distinct, colorful style draws inspiration from Surrealism, tattoo and graffiti art.
A pre-gala event is now a permanent feature of our fundraising weekend. This year’s pre-Gala event, called “Blues and Tattoos,” was held at The Standard, an elegantly appointed venue in downtown Nashville with a storied history. Super Honk, a Nashville-based blues band with high-octane energy, provided live entertainment.
The weekend ended with an intimate discussion with artist Kre8 at the Magnolia Cottage.

Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center’s annual black-tie gala is the social event of the season. Cyrus and Daniela Vatandoost, and Keith and Kim Samaroo were Gala Chairs for our fifth annual event. Contemporary graffiti, tattoo and Surrealist painter Kevin “Kre8” Vigil was the featured artist. His works will be on display in the galleries.
The guest speaker for the Fifth Annual Moonlight & Magnolias was Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett. John Block, executive vice president of the Park West Gallery, was compère. Dr. Priscilla Eichler was named the MACC’s Teacher of the Year.
The evening’s proceedings included dinner, dancing and a live art auction that benefited the MACC’s arts education and outreach programming.

Kaylin Warden
External Affairs Coordinator
Kaylin Warden joined the Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center staff in 2024 as External Affairs Coordinator. In this post, she organizes special off-site events and manages the organization’s external communications. She also works with the development department by updating the MACC’s customer relations database, and she assists the executive director in setting up exhibitions. Above all else, Kaylin is passionate about the arts. It comes as no surprise, then, that she is now pursuing a master’s degree in art history. When she’s not at the MACC, you can find her reading her favorite books (especially ones dealing with maritime mysteries), cooking, gardening, playing with her cat and two dogs, and cheering for the Nashville Predators.
