MONTHAVEN ARTS AND CULTURAL CENTER ANNOUNCES NEW HERITAGE MUSIC SERIES LINEUP

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 13, 2026) – Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center is pleased to announced the fall lineup for its Heritage Music Series. Stephanie Urbina Jones, The Adam Gaynor Experience and Wendy Moten are all scheduled to perform at these intimate Bluebird Café-style concerts.

“We’re thrilled to announce the second season of this fabulous new music series at the MACC,” says Cheryl Strichik, the MACC’s executive director. “Our galleries are the perfect space to eat an elegant meal while listening to some of the best musicians of our time.”

The Heritage Music Series fall season opens at 6 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 17, 2026 with a concert featuring Stephanie Urbina Jones. Blazing trails from Texas to Mexico, Jones and her history-making Honky Tonk Mariachi are telling a new story in American music, blowing hearts and minds wide open with their mix of classic country rock with a twang and the intoxicating, joy-filled sounds of Mexico. This new style fondly called “country music with chili peppers” is inspiring and building bridges between worlds. From the first gritos to the last yee haws, from the hallowed stage of the Grand Ole Opry to the two-stepping dance halls of Texas to festivals around the world, Jones and her fiesta platter of love (percussion, trumpets, violins, vihuelas, guitarróns, guitars y mas) are sharing culture, stories, and songs that bring people together.

The Adam Gaynor Experience takes center stage at the next Heritage Music Series concert on at 6 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 15, 2026. Gaynor first came to fame as one of the founding members of the band Matchbox20. During his time as rhythm guitarist, the band sold more than 30 million records and played thousands of concerts to fans around the world. Along the way, he also earned a People’s Choice Award, received four Grammy nominations and scored 10 hit singles. When he’s not performing, Gaynor works with musicians of all ages via his platform adamgaynor.net, helping them reach their creative potential.

The spectacular singer Wendy Moten headlines her Heritage Music Series concert at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2026. Moten is a genre-defying vocal powerhouse known for her stunning performances on NBC’s The Voice and her signature hit “Come In Out of the Rain.” A Memphis native, she has toured globally with such noted performers as Julio Iglesias, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Martina McBride, John Oates and Vince Gill. Whether singing country, soul, or pop, Wendy continues to captivate audiences with her grace, power and unforgettable voice.

The MACC’s Heritage Music Series presents concerts to audiences of less than 50, who enjoy an elevated Southern meal. Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center (MACC) is a jewel-box art museum and education facility housed in one of Tennessee’s most spectacular antebellum mansions. A 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, the MACC has staged exhibitions featuring everything from the ceramic art of Pablo Picasso to the evening gowns of Princess Diana. Robin Willis

HEALING ARTS COORDINATOR

Robin Willis is the MACC’s Healing Arts Coordinator. She also works as the Exhibition and Events Manager and Director of Outreach. Robin has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Clemson University with a minor in Entrepreneurship. She is a multi-discipline artist with emphasis in writing, mixed media abstract painting, alternative process photography, collage, and book arts and binding. In addition to her art practices, she holds several healing modalities certificates, such as extensive kundalini yoga teacher training and education, Reiki master, systemic family constellation facilitator, and depth psychology-based therapy trainings. As an avid learner, she explores and encourages others in their exploration in art, psyche, and our relationship to the micro and macro worlds within and around us. Influenced by John Muir’s quote, When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe, she fuses art, healing, and organization throughout her work and personal life as a creative-scientist minded person.

Kaylin Warden

Creative Design and Operations Manager

Kaylin Warden serves as the MACC’s Creative Design and Operations Manager. In this post, she oversees the organization’s graphic design work for exhibitions, events and special projects. She also coordinates the MACC’s arts outreach activities and assists with bookkeeping, among other duties. Kaylin, above all, is passionate about the arts. It comes as no surprise, then, that she is now pursuing a master’s degree in art history. When she’s not at the MACC, you can find her reading her favorite books (especially ones dealing with maritime mysteries), cooking, gardening, playing with her cat and two dogs, and cheering for the Nashville Predators.

Ruth Chase

Regional Arts Director
Ruth Chase is the Regional Arts Director of Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center, joining the team in 2023. For Ruth, the job is all about community, bringing people together to uplift and educate artists and art lovers alike. Her role at Monthaven is to strengthen the local artist community and build connections that will enrich Hendersonville and our surrounding communities through art exhibitions, art education, and opportunities for regional artists.
 
Prior to joining Monthaven, Ruth worked in the arts for over 30 years and is a multimedia artist and graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute. Her artistic practice is inquiry-based and engages in community bridge-building. She was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Los Angeles, curated and juried exhibitions, and has taught at the Crocker Art Museum.
 
Ruth was awarded an Artist-in-Residence for Artist Activating Communities through a grant from the California Arts Council for three consecutive years. Her film Belonging screened at both the 18th Annual Nevada City Film Festival and Wild & Scenic Film Festival. She has received the Legendary Female Artist of Venice award, and she has exhibited in The Crocker Kingsley, the Museum of Northern California Art, and the Diego Rivera Gallery at the San Francisco Art Institute. Ruth also continues her work as a Curatorial Consultant and Art director for the Californian Indigenous Research Project, where she has worked with the local tribe since 2018.
