FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 25, 2025) – The sweet sounds of authentic American music will soon fill Monthaven’s galleries. Starting in September, the MACC will introduce a new Heritage Music Series. These intimate Bluebird Café-style concerts will feature a lineup of top musicians from the Nashville area and beyond.

“We’re thrilled to introduce this fabulous new music series at the MACC,” says Cheryl Strichik, the MACC’s executive director. “Our galleries are the perfect space to eat an elegant meal while listening to some of the best musicians of our time.”

The new Heritage Music Series debuts at 6 p.m. on Thursday Sept. 25, 2025 with a concert featuring John Carter Cash and Ana Cristina Cash. John Carter Cash is an award-winning record producer, film producer, writer, director and singer-songwriter. As a Grammy-winning producer, Cash has worked with Elvis Costello, Brooks & Dunn, Kris Kristofferson, Emmylou Harris, John Prine and more. His album The Family Secret received rave reviews from Rolling Stone Magazine. His new album Pineapple John is available Sept. 12, 2025. Ana Cristina Cash signed her first record deal (with Sony Music) at age 15. Among her notable albums is 2020’s Shine, featuring songs she wrote in collaboration with John Carter Cash and others. The album draws heavily from blues, rock, country and Americana.

John Ford Coley headlines the next Heritage Music Series concert on at 6 p.m. on Thursday Oct. 30, 2025. Best known for his role in the Grammy-nominated duo England Dan and John Ford Coley, this noted American singer, guitarist, classically trained pianist, actor and author contributed significantly to the soundtrack of a generation. His many memorable hits include “Love Is The Answer,” “I’d Really Love To See You Tonight,” “We’ll Never Have To Say Goodbye Again” and “Nights Are Forever Without You.” Coley moved to Tennessee in 1999 because he loved the Nashville music community. He is thrilled to bring his music to the MACC.

Songwriter Steve Dorff will perform some his classic hits at a Heritage Music Series concert at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025. An inductee to the prestigious Songwriter’s Hall of Fame in New York City, Dorff has written songs sung by the likes of Barbra Streisand, Kenny Rogers, Celine Dion, Whitney Houston, Anne Murray, George Strait and Garth Brooks. He’s tallied over 40 BMI awards with hits like Rogers’ “Through the Years,” Murray’s “I Just Fall in Love Again” (Billboard’s top country hit of 1979), Strait’s “I Cross My Heart,” Lee Greenwood’s “Don’t Underestimate My Love for You,” and Eddie Rabbitt’s “Every Which Way But Loose”—the title track from Clint Eastwood’s 1978 film. His songs have charted in 5 successive decades, with #1 records across 4 decades. His concert at Monthaven should not be missed.

The Heritage Music Series celebrates the holiday season with the sweet sounds of Appalachia. Appalachian Road Show, a visionary acoustic ensemble, is known for its new-generation interpretations of traditional Americana, bluegrass and folk songs. Led by Grammy-nominated banjoist Barry Abernathy and Grammy-winning fiddle player Jim VanCleve, Appalachian Road Show invites us to stop by, sit a spell, and enjoy traditional music and storytelling presented in an entirely new way. Seating is limited for the two performances at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025.

The MACC’s Heritage Music Series presents concerts to audiences of less than 50, who enjoy an elevated Southern meal. Performances sellout quickly, so reserve your tickets by going to macctn.ticketspice.com/heritage-music-series. For more information, call (615) 822-0789.

Robin Willis

HEALING ARTS COORDINATOR

Robin Willis is the MACC’s Healing Arts Coordinator. She also works as the Exhibition and Events Manager and Director of Outreach. Robin has a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Clemson University with a minor in Entrepreneurship. She is a multi-discipline artist with emphasis in writing, mixed media abstract painting, alternative process photography, collage, and book arts and binding. In addition to her art practices, she holds several healing modalities certificates, such as extensive kundalini yoga teacher training and education, Reiki master, systemic family constellation facilitator, and depth psychology-based therapy trainings. As an avid learner, she explores and encourages others in their exploration in art, psyche, and our relationship to the micro and macro worlds within and around us. Influenced by John Muir’s quote, When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe, she fuses art, healing, and organization throughout her work and personal life as a creative-scientist minded person.

Kaylin Warden

Creative Design and Operations Manager

Kaylin Warden serves as the MACC’s Creative Design and Operations Manager. In this post, she oversees the organization’s graphic design work for exhibitions, events and special projects. She also coordinates the MACC’s arts outreach activities and assists with bookkeeping, among other duties. Kaylin, above all, is passionate about the arts. It comes as no surprise, then, that she is now pursuing a master’s degree in art history. When she’s not at the MACC, you can find her reading her favorite books (especially ones dealing with maritime mysteries), cooking, gardening, playing with her cat and two dogs, and cheering for the Nashville Predators.
