SUMMARY:Muddle Through the Metal Redux (Sept. 9-10)
DESCRIPTION:Back by popular demand: In this fun\, innovative two-day workshop\, the renowned artist Valentine Adams will lead participants through the process of creating “reclaimed metal sculptures.” Participants are encouraged to bring with them small metal objects that may have a special texture\, patina or nostalgic value. Using their imaginations\, they will then integrate these disparate pieces into fantastical sculptures\, breathing new life\, if you will\, into discarded debris (reclaimed art!). This event will involve light welding\, soldering and wire bending. Participants will get to take home a terrific new work of art. The workshop is appropriate for adults\, teens\, and older children under supervision. The $125 fee covers all supply costs. The two-day workshop is 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday\, Sept. 9 (includes light lunch) and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday\, Sept. 10. Space is very limited. To register click HERE.

This amazing artist credits her initial musical inspiration to Gospel music. While touring and performing\, she was later introduced to the many sounds of different genres of music. Her Gospel roots naturally segued into the Blues where you can still hear and feel the hints of Soul along with her grittiness of Rock. Today\, she is most comfortable on stage performing in her own unique style\, sharing her heart and soul to each audience through her love of music.

DESCRIPTION:Noted art historian and Picasso expert Morris Shapiro will discuss Picasso’s life and work as part of Monthaven Arts and Cultural Center’s Master In Clay Part II exhibition. The long-time senior gallery director of Park West Gallery has been absorbing Picasso’s Herculean oeuvre since the 1970s. He will place the MACC’s exhibition within the timelines of the artist’s creative processes\, while providing insight into Picasso’s personal experiences and challenges during the creation of many of the exhibition’s highlights.
